About Me
Touring Artist. Songwriter. Producer. Educator. Mentor.
I am a Denver based guitarist, touring artist, and educator with more than 25 years of professional performance and teaching experience. As lead guitarist for The Motet since 2005, I have built a national reputation for musicality, rhythmic depth, adaptability and versatility across genres.
I hold a degree in Jazz Guitar and have dedicated my career to performing and teaching at a high level. I have headlined Red Rocks Amphitheatre seven times, performed at world famous venues such as Madison Square Garden and the Greek Theater, and appeared on national television programs including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Late Show with David Letterman, and CBS This Morning.
Alongside my touring career, I have worked with students of all ages and levels for over two decades. From 2008 to 2013, I served as adjunct guitar faculty at University of Colorado Boulder, teaching private lessons and group classes while mentoring developing musicians. My teaching experience spans private lesson studios, university programs, summer music camps, and more than 25 years running my own independent studio. Many of my former students have gone on to build successful careers throughout the music industry, including Los Angeles studio owners, composers for Hollywood film scores, touring musicians, music agents, artist managers, and professionals working across nearly every facet of the business.
Outside of music, I spend a lot of time training, staying active, and keeping a regular meditation practice. Those habits have taught me the value of being present and showing up every day with intention. That mindset carries directly into how my music and teaching practice. It’s not about being great by tomorrow. It is about getting a little bit better every day and trusting the process.
I offer private guitar instruction throughout Denver in home or online, while continuing to tour, record, and create original music through my side project Jalbatross.
